OFFICIAL : Real Madrid’s lineup against Deportivo.

Real Madrid have officially announced their starting XI for tonight’s friendly against Deportivo La Coruña in the 81st edition of the Teresa Herrera Trophy at the Estadio Abanca-Riazor. Kick-off is scheduled for 9:00 p.m. CEST, with José Mourinho continuing to fine-tune his team ahead of the start of the 2026/27 campaign.

Andriy Lunin keeps his place between the posts, with Thibaut Courtois not involved. Mourinho has selected a four-man defence featuring Denzel Dumfries at right-back, Antonio Rüdiger and Dean Huijsen in central defence, and Álvaro Carreras on the left.

One of the most interesting decisions comes in midfield. Federico Valverde starts on the bench, with Mourinho opting for a partnership involving Bernardo Silva and Eduardo Camavinga. Bernardo therefore receives another important opportunity to build his fitness and chemistry with his new teammates during his first preseason with the Spanish giants.

Further forward, Arda Güler is once again trusted with an important creative role. The Turkish international has been one of Madrid’s most impressive players during preseason and will look to connect midfield with the attacking line.

Brahim Díaz starts on the right side of the attack, while Vinícius Junior occupies his familiar position on the left. The Brazilian winger continues to gain competitive rhythm after returning to action during the final stages of Madrid’s preseason preparations.

Leading the attack will be Endrick. The young Brazilian striker receives another start under Mourinho and will be looking to make his mark at Riazor. His movement, power and ability in front of goal could make him one of Madrid’s most dangerous players against Deportivo.

The substitutes are Sergio Mestre, Federico Valverde, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Carlos Espí, Joan Martínez, Lamini, Jorge Cestero, Lacosta, Mario Rivas, Daniel Yáñez and Alexis Ciria.

Several major names are therefore absent from the starting lineup, giving Mourinho another chance to evaluate different combinations before competitive football begins.

The match represents Real Madrid’s third preseason fixture. Los Blancos opened their preparations with a 2-2 draw against Fiorentina before defeating Ferencváros 2-1. After facing Deportivo, Mourinho’s men will conclude their preseason schedule against Schalke 04 on August 16.

For Real Madrid, the objective at Riazor is not only to lift the prestigious Teresa Herrera Trophy but also to continue developing the tactical identity Mourinho wants for the new season.
