A night out in Paris, a few photos alongside Ester Expósito and, above all, no sign of Kylian Mbappé at Valdebebas for the past two days. Inevitably, the images quickly sparked discussion, especially with the French striker currently recovering from a knee injury. However, Real Madrid insist there was nothing spontaneous or unauthorized about his trip to the French capital.
Photos of Mbappé in Paris quickly spread across social media. While several of his Real Madrid teammates continued working at the club’s training complex, the French forward was seen enjoying some time in the capital with people close to him, including during an evening where Spanish actress Ester Expósito was also present.

Naturally, his appearance in Paris raised a few questions. Mbappé is currently sidelined through injury and has not been seen at Valdebebas for two days, leading some to wonder why he was away from Madrid during such an important stage of his recovery.
From Real Madrid’s point of view, however, there is absolutely no cause for concern.
According to Spanish newspaper AS, Mbappé’s trip was fully approved in advance. The striker reportedly received permission from José Mourinho, his coaching staff and the club’s medical department to begin this part of his recovery away from Valdebebas and travel to Paris with his partner and some friends.
Inside the club, the words being used to describe the situation are “coordinated” and “agreed”. Real Madrid maintain that every aspect of Mbappé’s recovery programme has been planned with the medical staff and that his stay in Paris does not interfere with his rehabilitation.
Real Madrid do not want to take any risks
At this stage of his recovery, the club believe there is little reason for Mbappé to attend daily training sessions at Valdebebas. His injury primarily requires rest, and doctors reportedly feel that spending additional hours at the training ground would not speed up the healing process.
Mbappé picked up the injury while playing for France against Turkey. Initial concerns were relatively significant, but medical examinations eventually delivered reassuring news.
The diagnosis was a hyperextension of the posterior capsule of his left knee, with the forward expected to be sidelined for around one to two weeks.

Even so, Real Madrid have no intention of rushing their star attacker back into action.
His participation against Villarreal at the Santiago Bernabéu on October 10 remains uncertain. Even if Mbappé is physically capable of returning by then, Mourinho and the medical staff could choose to give him additional recovery time rather than expose him to an unnecessary setback.
The main objective is to have the Frenchman fully fit for the major fixtures ahead, particularly the Clasico against Barcelona on October 25.
His trip to Paris has therefore caused no internal controversy at Real Madrid. As far as the club are concerned, Mbappé respected the agreed recovery programme and had every necessary authorization before travelling.
There is also no desire to prevent him from spending a few days in Paris with those close to him while he rests.
For Real Madrid, the priority is clear: avoid unnecessary risks and make sure Kylian Mbappé returns at 100 percent.
