Real Madrid would like to bring Jacobo Ramón back to the Santiago Bernabéu, but the 21-year-old defender has no intention of returning to the Spanish capital for the time being.
The Spanish centre-back left Real Madrid for Como in the summer of 2025 in search of regular first-team football. The move has proved to be a successful one, as Ramón quickly established himself as an important player under Cesc Fàbregas.
His development in Italy has followed a path similar to that of Nico Paz, another Real Madrid academy graduate who found at Como the ideal environment to play regularly, gain confidence and continue his progression away from the enormous pressure surrounding the Spanish giants.
According to AS, Jacobo Ramón is so comfortable with his current situation in Serie A that returning to Real Madrid is not part of his immediate plans. The Spanish club had already explored the possibility of bringing him back last summer, but the defender decided against it.
Real Madrid reportedly offered Ramón the opportunity to return and become the fourth-choice centre-back in the squad. However, the youngster preferred to remain at Como, where he knew he would have more opportunities to play and continue developing.
Despite his decision, Real Madrid have not lost control of the situation.
When Ramón was transferred to Como, the Spanish club retained 50% of his rights and also secured an option allowing them to bring him back for around €9 million at the end of the season. From a financial point of view, therefore, Real Madrid have a relatively straightforward route to re-signing one of their most promising academy graduates.
However, activating the clause would not automatically guarantee Ramón’s return to Madrid.
As with Nico Paz, Real Madrid are expected to take the player’s wishes into consideration before making a final decision. The club does not intend to force an academy graduate to return if he believes staying elsewhere would be better for his career.
For Ramón, the priority remains playing regularly.
At 21, the defender is entering a crucial stage of his development, and his performances in Serie A suggest that the decision to move to Italy has benefited him. Under Fàbregas, he has been given responsibility and continuity that would have been much harder to obtain at Real Madrid.
The situation could nevertheless evolve in the coming months. Real Madrid will continue monitoring his performances, particularly as the club evaluates its defensive options for next season.

A strong campaign with Como could make Ramón an increasingly attractive option for the Madrid hierarchy.
For the moment, though, the message coming from the player appears clear: he is happy in Italy and sees no reason to rush back to his boyhood club.
Real Madrid may have the contractual option to bring Jacobo Ramón home, but ultimately, the most important decision could belong to the defender himself.
