Real Madrid have officially announced their squad for the rescheduled LaLiga Matchday 1 fixture against Real Sociedad, which will take place at the Santiago Bernabéu on Wednesday at 9:00 p.m. The match will be broadcast on Orange TV and Movistar LaLiga.
José Mourinho has selected a strong group for the clash as Los Blancos prepare to play their first league game of the season in front of their home supporters. After beginning their campaign away from Madrid, the Bernabéu crowd will now have the opportunity to see the new-look Real Madrid side in competitive action.
In goal, Mourinho has called up Thibaut Courtois, Andriy Lunin and young goalkeeper Sergio Mestre. Courtois is expected to retain his place as the first-choice goalkeeper, while Lunin remains an experienced alternative.
The defensive line includes several important names. Dean Huijsen, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ibrahima Konaté, Marc Cucurella, Álvaro Carreras, Antonio Rüdiger and Denzel Dumfries have all been included. Young defender Mario Rivas has also received a call-up, giving Mourinho another option at the back.
Real Madrid will therefore have plenty of defensive solutions available against Real Sociedad, with players capable of operating both centrally and in the full-back positions.
In midfield, Jude Bellingham is part of the squad alongside Eduardo Camavinga, Federico Valverde, Arda Güler and Bernardo Silva. The presence of these players gives Mourinho several tactical possibilities, particularly when it comes to controlling possession, pressing high and creating chances between the lines.
Cestero and Alexis Ciria have also been included in the travelling group, providing additional depth and another opportunity for young players to remain involved with the first team.
Up front, Real Madrid will once again rely on some of their biggest attacking stars. Vinícius Junior and Kylian Mbappé headline the forward line, while Brahim Díaz, Carlos Espí and Yan Diomande have also been selected.
Mbappé and Vinícius will naturally be among the main threats for Real Sociedad’s defence, but Carlos Espí will also be closely watched after making an impressive start to the season. Yan Diomande, meanwhile, continues his integration into the Madrid squad and could be given another opportunity to show his qualities.

With the match taking place at the Bernabéu, expectations will be high. Mourinho will want his players to maintain their winning mentality and continue building momentum in the early stages of the campaign.
