Luis Enrique Sets PSG a Historic Target: “Winning Three Champions Leagues in a Row Would Be Another Level”
Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique has spoken to UEFA ahead of the start of the new season, making it clear that the French champions remain as ambitious as ever.

PSG are not hiding their objectives for the upcoming campaign — and after what they have achieved over the past two seasons, there is every reason for the club to aim high. Having won the last two editions of the UEFA Champions League, in 2025 and 2026, the Parisian giants are now dreaming of an extraordinary third consecutive European crown.
Before turning their full attention to another Champions League campaign, however, PSG have another trophy to compete for. Luis Enrique’s side will face Aston Villa in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday, a match the Spanish coach is taking very seriously.
Speaking to UEFA ahead of the encounter, Luis Enrique underlined the importance of the competition and warned that Aston Villa will provide a major challenge.
“I have no doubt that the European Super Cup is a really important trophy and that Aston Villa will be very competitive,” Luis Enrique said.
Nevertheless, the PSG manager is already thinking beyond the Super Cup. Winning the Champions League for a third consecutive season would allow Paris Saint-Germain to match a historic achievement accomplished by a club Luis Enrique knows extremely well: Real Madrid.
“It Would Be Another Level”
“At the moment, we have a unique challenge ahead of us, something that has practically never been done in the history of European football,” Luis Enrique explained.
“If we manage to win a third Champions League in a row… come on… that would be another level. Nobody has done it apart from Real Madrid.”
The Spanish coach clearly believes his squad has the mentality required to chase such a remarkable achievement.
“I don’t think there is a single team in Europe more motivated than us,” he insisted.
Despite PSG’s recent success, Luis Enrique refuses to become complacent. The former Barcelona manager remains extremely demanding of himself and continues to search for ways to improve both his own work and the performances of his players.
“I’m not a genius and I don’t want to be one,” he said. “I’m constantly obsessed with trying to improve performances, my connection with the players and with the team, while also responding to the demands that come my way.”
Even during the summer break, Luis Enrique admits that completely switching off from football is almost impossible.
“Disconnecting 100 percent is impossible,” he explained. “First of all, because everyone keeps talking to you about last season and congratulating you for what you won.”
The 56-year-old also highlighted just how much the PSG project means to him personally.
“This is the project I have invested myself in the most,” he revealed.

Those words leave little doubt about Luis Enrique’s intentions. After guiding Paris Saint-Germain to two consecutive European titles, the Spanish coach has no intention of slowing down.
PSG are determined to continue making history, and their next major objective is clear: a third straight Champions League triumph.
If they succeed, Paris would join Real Madrid in an extremely exclusive chapter of European football history.
Real Madrid have been warned: Luis Enrique and PSG are coming for history.
