Jude Bellingham has completed his first training session at Real Madrid City, marking an important step in the English midfielder’s return to action ahead of the new season.

While part of José Mourinho’s squad prepares for this evening’s friendly against Deportivo de La Coruña in the 81st edition of the Teresa Herrera Trophy, the players who were not called up for the match continued their preparations at the club’s training complex.

The game against Deportivo will take place at Riazor at 9:00 p.m. and will be broadcast live on Realmadrid TV and RM Play. Meanwhile, several important members of the squad remained in Madrid to continue working on their fitness.

The major news from the session was the return of Jude Bellingham. The England international first underwent the required medical examinations before taking part in his first training session at Real Madrid City.

Bellingham then joined Kylian Mbappé, Marc Cucurella, Yan Diomande and Ibrahima Konaté for an intense workout. The group completed a demanding programme combining physical exercises with and without the ball as Mourinho’s coaching staff continues to gradually increase the players’ workload.

The return of Bellingham is particularly significant for Real Madrid. The midfielder remains one of the most important players in the squad thanks to his technical quality, physical strength, ability to contribute in both defensive and attacking phases, and his influence in decisive areas of the pitch.

His return to training will therefore be welcomed by Mourinho, who is continuing to prepare his squad for the beginning of the competitive campaign. The coaching staff will now carefully manage Bellingham’s workload before deciding when he is ready to return to match action.

Elsewhere, Thibaut Courtois continued his individual programme and worked inside the gym. The Belgian goalkeeper has already resumed training following his recent fitness problems and is progressively increasing the intensity of his rehabilitation.

Aurélien Tchouameni also worked indoors as part of his individual preparation programme.

Real Madrid still have several players undergoing rehabilitation. Raúl Asencio, Ferland Mendy, Éder Militão, Rodrygo and Thiago are continuing their respective recovery processes and remain under the supervision of the club’s medical and fitness departments.

Mourinho and his staff are therefore managing several different physical situations during this stage of pre-season. While some players are already competing in friendly matches, others are gradually returning to full fitness through individual or specialised training programmes.

Bellingham’s return represents another positive development for Real Madrid as the club moves closer to having its strongest possible squad available. After completing his medical tests and first demanding session, the English midfielder will now continue working at Real Madrid City with the objective of reaching peak physical condition and becoming available for Mourinho as soon as possible.
