Between his transfer fee and his salary, Real Madrid have made a massive financial commitment to their marquee summer signing, Yan Diomandé.
Yan Diomandé arrived at Real Madrid carrying enormous expectations. Signed from RB Leipzig during the summer transfer window, the Ivorian winger has reportedly become the most expensive signing in the history of the Spanish giants, with the overall transfer fee estimated at between €130 million and €140 million, including bonuses and add-ons.

That figure alone illustrates how highly Real Madrid rate the 19-year-old. However, the club’s investment does not stop with the amount paid to RB Leipzig. The player’s salary and the length of his contract significantly increase the total cost of the operation.
According to Mundo Deportivo, which claims to have obtained details regarding Diomandé’s contract in the Spanish capital, the Ivory Coast international will earn around €7 million net per season.
Diomandé signed a contract with Real Madrid running until June 30, 2033, meaning he is tied to the club for seven seasons. While the length of his deal had already been made public, the financial terms provide a clearer indication of the enormous commitment made by the Madrid hierarchy.
At €7 million net per season, Diomandé would earn approximately €49 million after tax over the full seven years of his contract.
From Real Madrid’s perspective, however, the total salary expense is considerably higher. His gross salary is estimated at around €14 million per year, meaning the club could spend close to €98 million in wages over seven seasons.
Approximately €49 million of that amount would reportedly go toward taxes in Spain, while the remaining €49 million would represent Diomandé’s net earnings.
A Deal Worth Nearly €230 Million
The figures immediately place Diomandé among Real Madrid’s highest-paid players despite his young age.
His reported €7 million annual net salary already puts him near the top of the club’s wage structure, although he remains behind two of Real Madrid’s biggest stars, Kylian Mbappé and Vinicius Junior, who are understood to be the highest earners in the squad.
When the financial elements of the deal are combined, the magnitude of Real Madrid’s investment becomes even clearer.
Yan Diomande a été proposé au Barça avant la Coupe du Monde, précisément en mai, pour environ 100 millions d'euros et un salaire net de 7 millions d'euros. Il était prêt à rejoindre le club.

Taking a transfer fee of around €130 million and adding approximately €98 million in gross salary commitments, the total cost of the Diomandé operation could reach roughly €228 million, or close to €230 million.
It is an extraordinary investment for a player who is still only 19 years old.
Real Madrid are therefore not simply betting on Diomandé’s immediate impact. The Spanish giants appear to see him as one of the central figures of their long-term sporting project.
After committing such a significant amount of money to his transfer and contract, expectations will inevitably be extremely high. Diomandé will now have the challenge of proving on the pitch that Real Madrid’s massive investment in his potential was justified.
