Yan Diomandé finally made his first appearance for Real Madrid, and the young winger did not need much time to show why the Spanish giants were so determined to bring him to the Santiago Bernabéu. Mourinho will undoubtedly remain patient with Diomandé. One friendly appearance cannot define a season, and the youngster will still need time to fully understand Madrid’s tactical demands.

But first impressions matter.

Against Schalke 04, Diomandé showed exactly why Real Madrid believe so strongly in his talent.

Explosive, confident and technically gifted, he offered supporters an exciting first glimpse of what he could bring during the 2026-27 campaign.

Real Madrid already possess one of the most dangerous attacking squads in Europe. If Yan Diomandé continues developing at this speed, Mourinho may soon have another serious attacking star on his hands.
