Vini. Sends a Strong Message About Real Madrid’s Pre-Season

“Mourinho wants me to be the way I have always been: happy, joyful and free to play my football,” Vinícius Jr. said after completing his second day of pre-season training with Real Madrid.

The Brazilian forward spoke to Realmadrid TV at the Ciudad Real Madrid training complex, where the squad continues its preparations for the new campaign. After returning from his summer break, Vinícius has quickly resumed work with the team and is gradually adapting to the methods of new head coach José Mourinho.

According to the winger, his first impressions have been extremely positive. He has enjoyed getting to know the new coaching staff and the latest additions to the squad, while also taking part in demanding training sessions designed to improve the players’ fitness levels.

“Everything has gone very well,” Vinícius explained. “I am getting to know the new coach and the new players, and we are training with a lot of intensity. Mourinho wants me to be the way I have always been: happy, joyful and able to play my football.”

The comments underline Mourinho’s desire to give the Brazilian the confidence and freedom he needs to express himself on the pitch. Vinícius remains one of Real Madrid’s most dangerous attacking players, thanks to his speed, dribbling ability and capacity to create decisive moments in the final third.

The 26-year-old also discussed the importance of pre-season preparation, especially after a long and physically demanding campaign. He believes the work completed during this period will be essential in reducing the risk of injuries and ensuring that the entire squad is available throughout the season.

“We have to prepare ourselves physically in order to reduce injuries during the season and make sure that everyone can be available,” he said.

Vinícius then provided further details about the team’s demanding training programme. Real Madrid completed two sessions on the previous day before returning for another workout, which combined gym exercises with short, high-intensity drills on the pitch.

“Yesterday, we had two training sessions, and today we only had one. That is how pre-season works,” the Brazilian continued. “Today, we did some work in the gym and several short exercises to put more load on our legs.”

Despite the physical demands, Vinícius was satisfied with the quality of the session and the effort shown by his teammates. He admitted that the players were exhausted by the end of the workout but stressed that recovery would be equally important before the next training session.

“It was a good training session, and we were all very tired at the end,” he added. “Now, we need to rest and recover for tomorrow. Pre-season is like that, and we have to be ready.”

Vinícius’ positive words suggest that he is fully focused on preparing for the upcoming season. Under Mourinho’s guidance, the Brazilian will hope to rediscover his best form and continue playing a central role in Real Madrid’s ambitions for major trophies.
