Real Madrid’s summer transfer business has been remarkably balanced, with heavy spending offset by a significant number of player sales.
The final weeks of the summer transfer window are expected to be relatively quiet at Real Madrid, although nothing can be completely ruled out. José Mourinho has asked the club’s hierarchy for additional reinforcements, namely a midfielder and a centre-back.
However, any potential new arrivals are likely to depend on departures. The problem for Madrid is that some of the players who could be sold are not necessarily willing to leave. Eduardo Camavinga and Raúl Asencio are among those whose futures have been questioned, but both appear determined to remain at the club.
For now, Real Madrid’s transfer balance remains impressive. The club has spent close to €250 million this summer, but those expenses have largely been offset by a series of sales, many involving players who were not even established members of the first team.
Among the most lucrative deals were Nico Paz’s €60 million transfer and Víctor Muñoz’s €20 million departure. Several smaller sales have also added to Madrid’s income, while Gonzalo’s move brought in another €40 million.
In total, Real Madrid have reportedly generated around €200 million from player sales, allowing the club to finance a major part of its summer recruitment without dramatically affecting its financial balance.
Another youngster set to leave
While Real Madrid continue to cash in on their academy talent, Mourinho has also stepped in to prevent some promising players from leaving.
The Portuguese coach reportedly blocked the departure of Thiago Pitarch, who had attracted interest from Fulham. Endrick is also expected to remain at the Santiago Bernabéu rather than leave on loan, as Mourinho wants to keep the Brazilian forward in his squad for the upcoming season.
However, another young player is now reportedly on the verge of leaving the Spanish capital.
According to Marca, Jacobo Ortega is set to join Strasbourg. The Madrid-based newspaper claims that an agreement has already been reached with the French club for a transfer worth €10 million.
As part of the deal, Real Madrid are also expected to retain 30% of the player’s rights, potentially allowing the Spanish giants to benefit financially from any future transfer.

Remarkably, the deal would represent the biggest sale Real Madrid have ever completed for a player who has never made his first-team debut.
Jacobo Ortega earned plenty of attention last season after playing a key role in Real Madrid’s successful UEFA Youth League campaign. The young striker was one of the standout performers of the academy side and established himself as one of the club’s promising attacking prospects.
He will now continue his development in French football with Strasbourg, while Real Madrid secure yet another important financial return from their highly productive youth academy.
