Real Madrid are preparing to officially welcome their summer signings in the coming days, but this time the Spanish giants have decided to do things very differently.
Six new players joined the Madrid squad during the summer transfer window, while José Mourinho also made his highly anticipated return to the dugout. Surprisingly, none of them have yet been given the traditional official presentation usually organised by the club.
Even more unusually, almost all of the new arrivals have already played in the famous white shirt before being formally introduced as Real Madrid players. That situation will finally change this week, just days before Los Blancos begin their new La Liga campaign.
However, due largely to a very tight pre-season schedule, Real Madrid have decided to abandon the spectacular presentations that supporters have become accustomed to over the years.
Private ceremonies at Valdebebas
Instead of organising major events at the Santiago Bernabéu or welcoming thousands of supporters, the club will hold the ceremonies at the Real Madrid training complex in Valdebebas.
The events will take place behind closed doors, with only the players’ relatives and a limited number of club representatives in attendance. Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez will personally welcome every new arrival.
According to a source within the club, these events should not really be described as traditional presentations. They will instead be short “welcome ceremonies” involving the president, José Mourinho, each new player and their respective families.
The club wants the occasions to remain “institutional, elegant, private and short,” reflecting a much more discreet approach than in previous years.
José Mourinho, Yan Diomandé, Marc Cucurella, Ibrahima Konaté, Denzel Dumfries, Carlos Espí and Bernardo Silva are all expected to participate individually in these ceremonies.
The format will allow Real Madrid to officially welcome the new members of the project without disrupting the team’s preparations ahead of the start of competitive action.
No press conferences for the new arrivals
Another significant change concerns media access.
Unlike the traditional presentations organised by Real Madrid in recent seasons, the new signings will not answer questions from journalists after their ceremonies. There will be no public attendance and no official press conference.
Usually, new Real Madrid players are introduced to supporters before appearing in front of the media to discuss their transfer, their ambitions and their first impressions of the club. This time, those elements will disappear completely.
The decision highlights the exceptional circumstances surrounding Madrid’s summer preparations. With several players joining the squad at different stages and an extremely demanding calendar, the club has chosen efficiency and privacy over spectacle.

Real Madrid are expected to officially announce the exact dates of the different welcome ceremonies very soon.
There is little time to waste. José Mourinho and his players are already fully focused on their first official challenge of the season.
Los Blancos will begin their La Liga campaign with an away fixture against Espanyol on Saturday evening at 9:30 p.m.
Before that first major test arrives, Florentino Pérez will finally have the opportunity to formally welcome Mourinho and Real Madrid’s summer recruits into the club — in a much quieter, more intimate and more institutional setting than usual.
