The Madrid squad began their journey from Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport, travelling to Düsseldorf with the players selected by Mourinho for this final test before the start of the competitive campaign. After a flight lasting approximately two and a half hours, the Real Madrid delegation landed safely at Düsseldorf Airport.
From there, the players, coaching staff and club officials travelled directly to the Hyatt Regency Düsseldorf, which will serve as the team’s base during their stay in Germany. The squad will remain at the hotel before heading to Gelsenkirchen on Sunday for the highly anticipated friendly against Schalke 04.
The match represents an important final opportunity for Mourinho to assess the condition of his players before the beginning of the official season.
