OFFICIAL: Real Madrid Announce Squad for Espanyol Clash

Real Madrid have announced their squad list for the La Liga Matchday 2 clash against Espanyol, which will be played at the RCDE Stadium on Saturday at 9:30 p.m. The match will be broadcast on Orange TV and DAZN.

José Mourinho has selected a strong squad for the trip to Barcelona, with most of his key players available as the Spanish giants prepare for another important test at the beginning of the new league campaign.

OFFICIEL : la liste du Real Madrid pour affronter l’Espanyol

Real Madrid squad against Espanyol

Goalkeepers: Courtois, Lunin and Sergio Mestre.

Defenders: Huijsen, Trent, Konaté, Cucurella, Álvaro Carreras, Rüdiger, Dumfries and Mario Rivas.

Midfielders: Bellingham, Camavinga, Valverde, Arda Güler, Bernardo Silva, Cestero and Alexis Ciria.

Forwards: Vini Jr., Mbappé, Carlos Espí, Brahim Díaz and Yan Diomande.

Mourinho has plenty of options in defence, with several summer additions included in the travelling squad. Dean Huijsen and Ibrahima Konaté provide alternatives in central defence, while Antonio Rüdiger brings experience to the back line. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Marc Cucurella, Álvaro Carreras and Denzel Dumfries give the Portuguese coach different solutions in the full-back positions.

In midfield, Jude Bellingham is once again expected to have an important role. The England international is joined by Federico Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga, Arda Güler and Bernardo Silva. Youngsters Cestero and Alexis Ciria have also been called up and could be given an opportunity depending on how the game develops.

Real Madrid‘s attacking department will once again attract plenty of attention. Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius Júnior are both included and should be among the main offensive threats against Espanyol. Brahim Díaz is another option for Mourinho, while Carlos Espí and Yan Diomande will be hoping to earn minutes.

Diomande, in particular, will continue to be closely watched after his arrival at Real Madrid. The young attacker has already shown glimpses of his potential and will be hoping to establish himself progressively in Mourinho’s plans.

Thibaut Courtois is expected to start in goal, with Andriy Lunin serving as his main backup. Sergio Mestre completes the goalkeeper group.

The absence of several first-team players means Mourinho has once again turned to younger members of the squad, but Real Madrid still travel to the RCDE Stadium with a highly competitive group.

Espanyol are expected to provide a difficult challenge in front of their home supporters, and Mourinho has already highlighted the importance of being prepared for an intense encounter. Real Madrid will therefore be looking for a disciplined performance while relying on the individual quality of players such as Mbappé, Vinícius, Bellingham and Valverde.

With the squad now confirmed, attention turns to Mourinho’s starting XI and the tactical choices he will make for Saturday night’s La Liga clash.
