Marc Cucurella, Kylian Mbappé and Ibrahima Konaté have officially returned to Real Madrid following their participation in the World Cup, marking another important step in the club’s preparations for the new season.
The three players reported to the Ciudad Real Madrid, where they completed the first part of their routine medical examinations. The remaining tests will be carried out later at the Blua Sanitas Valdebebas Hospital after they complete their scheduled training session.
Their return represents a significant boost for Real Madrid as the squad continues to take shape ahead of the start of competitive football. After an intense summer on international duty, Cucurella, Mbappé and Konaté were given additional recovery time before joining their teammates in Madrid.
As is customary for players returning from major international tournaments, the trio are undergoing a complete medical assessment to evaluate their physical condition and ensure they are ready to resume full training. These examinations are particularly important after a demanding World Cup campaign, during which players were exposed to a heavy workload and high-intensity matches.
The first stage of the medical tests took place at the club’s training complex, Ciudad Real Madrid. The players will subsequently travel to the Blua Sanitas Valdebebas Hospital, where they will complete the remaining assessments under the supervision of the club’s medical staff.
Once the examinations are completed, the coaching staff will have a clearer picture of the physical condition of each player and will be able to adapt their training workload accordingly.
For Real Madrid, the return of Kylian Mbappé is particularly significant. The French forward remains one of the most important attacking players in the squad and will be expected to play a decisive role once the official season begins. His integration into pre-season training will allow him to gradually regain rhythm and reconnect with his teammates.
Ibrahima Konaté’s return also provides additional options in defence. The French centre-back brings physical strength, aerial ability and experience at the highest level, qualities that will be valuable as the coaching staff continues to prepare the team.

Marc Cucurella, meanwhile, adds further competition and versatility on the left side of the defence. His energy, tactical intelligence and ability to contribute both defensively and offensively make him another important option for the upcoming campaign.
The coaching staff will closely monitor all three players over the coming days. Having only recently returned from international duty, their workloads are expected to be carefully managed before they are fully reintegrated into collective sessions and competitive action.
