Real Madrid experienced a very eventful Thursday. The Spanish giants were beaten to the signing of Rodri by FC Barcelona. At the same time, the Santiago Bernabéu club officially announced Vinicius Jr.’s contract extension until 2032 and the signing of Yan Diomandé until 2033.
The Ivorian international, signed for €140 million including bonuses, spoke on Instagram about his departure from RB Leipzig and his arrival at Real Madrid.

“I am incredibly grateful. The club and its management believed in me a year ago, when I had only played a handful of professional matches. They trusted me and gave me the opportunity to prove myself at the highest level.
I was able to establish myself in one of Europe’s best leagues, earn my place in the Ivory Coast national team and represent my country on football’s biggest stage, the World Cup.
None of this would have been possible without RB Leipzig, and I will always be grateful to the club.
