The Yan Diomandé transfer saga took a major step forward on Wednesday, with Real Madrid and RB Leipzig now reportedly close to reaching an agreement. According to several German and Spanish sources, the final transfer fee could be between €130 million and €140 million.
The atmosphere around Real Madrid has been particularly intense in recent hours. On Wednesday, representatives of Vinicius Junior travelled to Valdebebas to hold discussions with the Spanish club regarding the Brazilian winger’s contract extension. However, the meeting was not only about Vinicius.

The agents also reportedly discussed the situation of Yan Diomandé, who, like the Real Madrid star, is represented by Roc Nation Sports. The agency’s CEO, Michael Yormark, added further fuel to the speculation by publishing a mysterious message on social media.
“Blue skies in Madrid. It is a beautiful day today,” he wrote.
The message quickly generated excitement among Real Madrid supporters, with many wondering whether it was related to Vinicius Junior’s contract negotiations, Diomandé’s potential transfer, or both.
Diomandé has attracted interest from several major European clubs, including Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain. However, the Ivorian international has reportedly made it clear that his preferred destination is Real Madrid.
The Spanish giants have been working quietly on the operation for several weeks. Initially, all parties believed the transfer could be completed quickly, as the player, Real Madrid and Leipzig were all open to finding an agreement.
However, negotiations have taken longer than expected because of disagreements within the player’s entourage. Several agents have reportedly been involved in a behind-the-scenes battle regarding the management of Diomandé’s career and the financial details surrounding the transfer.
These complications delayed the process, but the situation now appears to be moving in the right direction.
Sky Germany reported on Wednesday that talks between Real Madrid and RB Leipzig had resumed, describing the latest discussions as positive. Shortly afterwards, Spanish newspaper Marca claimed that the operation had advanced considerably and that an official announcement was no longer far away.
Diomandé is currently in Austria with the Leipzig squad. However, the player is reportedly waiting for permission to travel to Madrid, where he would undergo his medical examination before signing his contract with the Spanish club.
Both teams are now believed to be finalising the last details of what would be one of the biggest transfers in recent European football history.
The figures surrounding the deal have continued to increase. An initial fee of approximately €120 million was mentioned before reports suggested that Leipzig were demanding around €130 million.

Sky Germany now claims the final amount could reach between €130 million and €140 million. German newspaper Bild has also confirmed that Leipzig are expected to receive significantly more than €120 million.
The operation would become the most expensive sale in RB Leipzig’s history. It could also make Diomandé the most expensive signing ever completed by Real Madrid.
After several days of uncertainty, all parties appear relieved that negotiations are finally progressing. Unless there is a dramatic last-minute change, it now seems to be only a matter of time before Yan Diomandé officially becomes a Real Madrid player.
